Reyna Farrales is the Deputy County Manager for Performance Management. Her departmental assignments include the Human Services Agency, Criminal Justice, Assessor-Clerk-Recorder-Elections, Controller, Treasurer-Tax Collector and Information Services Department (ISD). She also supports the County’s recidivism reduction efforts through the Realignment Program.
Reyna joined the County Manager’s Office as a management analyst in 1994 and was budget director from 1997 to 2006. She served as deputy county manager for administrative services and interim CIO/ISD director from 2006 to 2013. Before coming to the County, Reyna was a lead consultant for a public sector budgeting software company, and was an intern and budget analyst for the Santa Clara County Executive’s Office.
Reyna holds a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and MBA from Pepperdine University, and has completed executive programs at UC Berkeley and Harvard Kennedy School. She serves on the boards of the National Civic League and California Network of Asian Public Administrators, and on the advisory board for San Francisco State University’s MPA program. Reyna is a certified volunteer mediator and California Credentialed County Senior Executive.
Born in Manila, Philippines, Reyna came to the U.S. with her family at age 10. She lives near family in San Jose with her husband and two children.
