Free domestic violence event in Redwood City to be held in Spanish
On Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, the San Mateo Co. Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with many other local agencies and service providers will be participating in a free one-day informative event about domestic violence. The event is an outreach to the Latino community and will be held entirely in Spanish.
The goal of the event is to raise awareness and empower the community to stop the cycle of abuse.
Information on the many available services and resources available to victims, survivors and their families will be provided. Panel discussions, food, entertainment, child-care (ages 3-12), exciting prizes and much more will make the day informative and enjoyable.
The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Verbo Family Services, 2798 Bay Road, Redwood City. The event is free and all are welcome. RSVP’s are encouraged so that adequate arrangements can be made for food, child-care and seating.
